NewsGator in Europe: Widgets Get Sophisticated

For our clients on the other side of the Atlantic, today Andre Bonvanie -- General Manager of NewsGator Europe -- will be speaking at WidgetWebExpo London

The title of his talk is, "Widgets Get Sophisticated: Analytics Elevate Value of Agile Ad & Content Syndication Technology." Andre will discuss how to reap the greatest return from widgets and will explain how widgets are emerging as an integration mechanism for third party services.  Since companies are increasingly experiencing the disaggregation of portals and media as more people take their content with them to destination sites like iGoogle and Facebook, widgets will play a huge role in shaping the new online media ecosystem.

He'll also talk about new ways in which widgets are emerging as a powerful way to add new levels of interactivity and collaboration, increase stickiness and boost revenue all in the name of community building and Web 2.0, especially as companies and marketers grapple with how to best engage people and syndicate content and ads in an increasingly online world.

We hope you'll have a chance to listen to Andre if you're in London!

Reminder: Widget Web Expo

Jeff Nolan will be speaking tomorrow, June 17th at Widget Web Expo in New York City.

At 3:15pm he will give a talk titled, The Future of Online Branding, Content and Advertising on the Web.

Once again, here's the focus of his talk:

As companies and marketers grapple with how to best engage people and syndicate both content and ads, syndication technologies are emerging as a powerful way to connect with readers, generate real revenue and extend the power of a brand.  Widgets are furthermore emerging as trackable, rich advertising that allow companies to combine demographic data with content metadata and relevance data to deliver targeted ads that are on par or better than in-page advertising.

In this session, Jeff will discuss these trends in widget advertising in addition to how widgets are emerging as an integration mechanism for 3rd party services and the disaggregation of portals & media– what it means for traditional media or online publishers as increasingly more people look to take their media with them to destination sites like iGoogle and Facebook.
