Check Out Our Series of Podcasts with SAP

SAP One of our clients, SAP, uses NewsGator to power the widgets within their content-rich and vibrant online communities. The SAP communities are extremely active and include 1.7 million users contributing 7,000 new posts (including blog posts, forum posts, wiki pages, articles, eLearning and more) each day! NewsGator powers viral widgets in their largest community, the SAP Developer Network (SDN), as well as their Business Process Expert Community, the SAP Business Objects Community, and their more recent University Alliances Community.

NewsGator’s General Manager of Media & Data Services, Walker Fenton, was able to discuss these communities, their ins-and-outs, use of the widgets, and much more with four different individuals with unique links to SAP.  These conversations (and their adjunct PowerPoint presentations) were recorded and are available here for you to download and listen and view today.

The four podcasts are conversations Walker had with:

  • Keith Elliot, Director, Content Strategy & Operations of the SAP Community Network
  • Craig Cmehil, Community Evangelist of the SAP Community Network
  • Abesh Bhattacharjee, Principal Software Engineer at SAP Labs
  • Alvaro Tejada Galindo, Project Manager at BizParter S.A. & SAP Mentor
  • Check them out here.

Podcast: USA.gov Expands Web 2.0 Features with Help from NewsGator

If you're a regular reader of this blog, you'll know from previous posts that the US government worked with NewsGator to implement changes to their online site –- USA.gov –- in order to make it more interactive and expand its Web 2.0 capabilities. USA.gov worked with NewsGator to create a Government News Aggregator with multiple content categories, along with shareable widgets.

Earlier this month, Walker Fenton, GM of NewsGator Media & Consumer products, had a conversation with Bev Godwin (Director of USA.gov & Web Best Practices) discussing the new Web 2.0 tools on USA.gov, their applications, and how these tools are changing the government’s relationship with its constituents.

We made this conversation into a 15-minute podcast which we hope you'll find insightful and informative.

You may access the podcast here. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the page, complete the registration, and you'll be able to access the to the podcast right away.

    Forthcoming USA.gov Podcast!

If you're a regular reader of this blog, you should know from my posts last week (here and here) that NewsGator has had the unique opportunity and privilege to help the Federal Government move their main site -- USA.gov -- thoroughly into the Web 2.0 world by powering their new Government News Aggregator as well as shareable widgets (seen at right).

Well, yesterday we had the exclusive opportunity to talk with Bev Godwin, Director of USA.gov & Best Practices.  We recorded a phone conversation (which I sat in on) between Walker Fenton, General Manger of NewsGator Media & Consumer products, and her.  They discussed a number of topics, including the new NewsGator-powered Web 2.0 tools on USA.gov, their applications, and how these (and other tools) will change the government's relationship with its constituents.

The conversation was illuminating and informative, and we've decided to make it into a Podcast.  It's about 15 minutes long, and I think you'll find it a worthwhile listen.  Hopefully, it will be available some time next week, and I'll let you know when it is!  Until then, check out the new Web 2.0 features on USA.gov, including the RSS Government News Feed Aggregator, the gadgets and shareable widgets, and the word cloud (courtesy Wordle) that they've implemented.
