NewsGator Desktop Notifier - Keyboard Shortcuts
One of the most useful features of the NewsGator Desktop Notifier are the keyboard shortcuts that make breezing through your new posts, well, a breeze.
In my opinion, the most useful is the Space Bar. This will mark the current post your viewing as read and move to the next post. You can use the Right and Left Arrow keys to move between posts as well without marking them read. Here's a list of all the default keyboard shortcuts.
Since keyboard shortcuts are a personal preference, NewsGator Desktop allows you to change them to almost anything you want. You can do this in the Keyboard Shortcut dialog.
The easiest way to get there is to right click on the tray icon and select "Notifier Options". This will open the Options dialog (which I will go over in more detail later). On the Notifier Options tab, you'll see a button for Keyboard Shortcuts. This will open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.
For any FeedDemon users, you'll notice that this dialog is very familiar looking. In here you can see all of the current shortcuts. To change a shortcut to your preference, just highlight it, enter the new key (or keys - shifts, alts and ctrls all work) and make sure the preview in the bottom left corner has what you want. If so, click the Assign button. That's it! Your shortcut is now assigned.
Play around with them... and if you have an idea for a shortcut that isn't there, drop a note in the forums!
