Introducing NewsGator Desktop (formerly NewsGator Desktop Sync)!

NewsGator Desktop is the next iteration of NewGator Desktop Sync.  You can still synchronize your NewsGator Online feeds, folders and read states with the Windows RSS Platform, but now you can also have this - the NewsGator Desktop Notifier!

Now you can see when new posts arrive in your NewsGator account, read them, clip them, forward them via email - all from your Desktop!  Everything syncs back to NewsGator Online and therefore the entire NewsGator Platform.  So you can read and clip an artical in the Desktop Notifier and have it marked read in IE 7, Inbox, FeedDemon, NetNewsWire, Go! and also have the clipping show up in NewsGator Online and Inbox.

The best part is you no longer need Vista or IE 7 to use NewsGator Desktop... all you need is the .Net 2.0 framework and a NewsGator Account!

It's still beta, so don't download it unless you're OK using software that may contain bugs.  If you run into any issues, you can use the "Submit Support Request" option to send an email to beta@newsgator.com where we can take a look at it.

I'll post more about the new features and improvements to Desktop Sync over the next few days, along with some of the features of the Desktop Notifier... including keyboard shortcuts and how to limit the feeds you get notified about.
