Sometimes you come up with zip while surfing the Web. Other times you hit the jackpot. Today was the latter. About every second or third headline I found was worth sharing. Here are a few.
Fans of Twitter can Tweet about this. Nick Bradbury, creator and curator of FeedDemon, posted last week on how to add TweetScan into the list of search engines FeedDemon can create search feeds for. And Nick Harris explains how to add TweetScan to Inbox.
A report on The New York Times Bits blog says that a study indicates that Google might have lost share to Yahoo in the first quarter of this year in the United States. While that’s certainly an interesting stat, this pie chart from Search Engine Land shows that two of every three searches today are done on Google, with Yahoo (20%), MSN (6.7%) and Ask(4.1%) bringing up the rear. Dream of Google’s demise, if you will, and cheer Yahoo if it’s true it won some market share, but marvel at Google’s reach today on this chart.
The Wall Street Journal’s Raymund Flandez comes up with some tips about how to find top bloggers in various industries, and he includes links to websites and free tools to help you find bloggers writing about subjects in which you are interested. It’s mostly written for the business worker, but you don’t have to work in an office to take advantage of them.
And finally, just when you think you have seen it all, here’s Shawn Fanning, best-known as the creator of Napster. Like athletes and celebrities, internet whiz kids can look forward to becoming corporate shills. What’s next, Bob Dylan doing Cadillac commercials?
