The NFL Draft is coming this Saturday and Sunday, and anticipation, as always, is building. Television and Internet commentators are analyzing the year’s class, handicapping the draftees and predicting winners and losers. It has become an annual affair that fans look forward to at this time of year.
It’s a full-time job for fans to keep with the draft’s machinations. Brian Kellner, NewsGator’s Vice-President, Products, and a big football fan, found five feeds to help him sort through the surfeit of information about the draft, its history and current status. His OPML file is here, which you can easily drop into your NewsGator, FeedDemon or NetNewsWire account to help keep up with this flood of draft content.
OPML (an acronym for Outline Processor Markup Language) files allow people to exchange lists of web feeds, and it’s pretty simple to copy this OPML file, which contains five feeds, into your reader.
In your NewsGator account, hit the Add Feeds tab on the dark blue bar at the top.
You’ll see URL and Import options. Click on Import.
Copy the URL from this page and paste it into the second box, the one that says “to import feeds from an OPML URL, enter that URL.” Click “Import” and then click on Add All Feeds.
When they show up in your reader, there will be 10-25 posts in each feed. NewsGator’s default option for sorting feeds is by Newest on Top. If you go to the Sort Order option and click on Activity, you can see quickly which posts are being read, emailed or tagged by other users in the NewsGator system. This is a quick, easy way to sort through posts that are attracting others and might be of interest to you.
