As the month of January comes to an end, there has been no break on the news front here at NewsGator. This week we had two announcements that I wanted to discuss in this blog:
Let's start with VideoBuzz. On Monday, we introduced this service that allows newspapers and other online content providers to quickly and easily bring in context-sensitive, syndicated and editorialized video content right into pages on their sites. This is part of the Private Label Platform and comes via a partnership with ClickCaster. Three newspapers, the Denver Post, the Ledger and the East Valley Tribune are using the service. Mark Cardwell, Digital Media at the Denver Post (which also uses NewsGator Private Label Platform for a branded RSS reader) notes,
"VideoBuzz is just another example of how NewsGator Private Label has helped us to deliver a vibrant experience to our audience, all while keeping them within our brand experience."
Next, let's turn to Spanning Salesforce. A former NewsGator VP, Charlie Wood, who is also author of the popular Moonwatcher blog, formed a company called Spanning Partners last year to enable enterprise applications to publish RSS feeds. The first application was Spanning Salesforce, a tool that enables users to subscribe to secure RSS feeds related to leads, opportunities, events and other functions from Salesforce.com. Although a number of our customers have used our enterprise solutions for external or premium content, delivering reports from enterprise applications securely via RSS will undoubtedly be a driver for adoption at many companies. So with this partnership, not only can users of NewsGator Enterprise Server and NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand (NGEOD) access Salesforce.com feeds, but if you sign up for a free 30 day trial of NGEOD, you can get a free trial of Spanning Salesforce. Read Charlie's blog post for more information.
Look for more customer, partner and technology announcements as we head into February.
