Today we announced the availability of NewsGator's Application Programming Interface (API). Of course, if you read Greg Reinacker's Weblog, this isn't news to you. We're excited to be bringing this one to you, because we think it's the most advanced API available in the industry. Some of the cooler features include the ability to synchronize not just content and subscriptions, but read/unread state as well; download only new content (helps with bandwidth); and add community and individual ratings of feed content. You can get all the details on our website here, or access the press release here.
It's free for non-commercial use (and licenseable otherwise), so give it a run and be sure to let us know what you think.

Every day I wake up to a new Internet.
Right now you can say I am blogged down!
I can't get a grasp of what
RSS language and Blogs are all about.
I have a Blog Bot at Picasa2.com and I yet
have to digest what the new trend is all about.
I would like the kiss approach to this subject
(keep it simple stupid). If I could discuss it with
regular "Jargon" I might have a glimpse and overall
understanding of the impact these items have on my surfing experience. I would like to figure out "News
Gator's programing Interface application"
before I go to Florida. XML is another issue I will leave until tommorrow. I think I blew a fuse, the Nerds have taken over....Drop in sometime, http://mycottaageproperty.com

Thanks for dropping in. If you'd like to discuss the API, we've set up a community forum for our API users at http://www.newsgator.com/forum/messages.aspx?ForumID=8
